Emily's Letter to Santa

We were at the mall the other day and Emily went and said hi to Santa and found out that she could write her letter there and put it in his mailbox. She went over to a table and proceeding to write her name though did it from right to left, but in the correct order!! YLIME :) I helped her write the toys she would like ask for and then she was off to put it in Santa's mailbox. She's growing up so fast and Im enjoying all of the new things we get to do with her as she gets older.

Emily's view on marriage...

Tonight something came up about our wedding day, so I decided to show Emily our wedding album and let her see all of the pictures. She loved looking at them and seeing us and the family and has recently come to understand why she wasn't there. The cutest thing about looking thru them was her observation of my wedding dress. She believes that Daddy, the "prince", went out and picked a pretty dress for Mommy, the "princess" from the marry store! Everything is a marry something! My fav was the marry hat I wore, aka the veil! Its always so cute to hear her way of describing things!

My darling daughter....

This evening before we headed out to the Clam Bake Festival, my darling daughter had an opinion of what I was wearing. She very matter-of-factly said "mommy that shirt looked better on you when you had a baby in your tummy." To top this off...it wasnt even a shirt a wore when I was pregnant!! I guess I can always guarantee an honest answer from her!

A cute quote from Emily....

"Daddy, can you shrink your age so you can play with me?"

Happy Halloween from the girls!

Emily the Political Analyst!

Today while on the phone with my mom, Emily let me know that she had a question for Nana. Emily proceeded to take the phone and ask "Nana, why do you like John McCain?" I could hear my mom's laughter as she stated to Emily that she just doesn't like Obama. Emily then let her know that "when John McCain wins, we will be very sad, but when Barack Obama wins we will be very happy!!" Its so simplistic in the mind of a 3yr old :)

Fall Pumpkin Fun :)

We had a fun filled Friday with friends and family. We started with a trip to a local pumpkin patch with a couple of Emily's friends and Mommies too! Emily picked out a pumpkin for herself and didn't forget to get one for Molly. Molly had fun watching the big kids play around in the pumpkins, trying to pick them up and find the biggest one in the patch. Later that night we went to Boo at the Zoo for some trick or treating and activities. It was a nice night, though a little muggy and buggy! Emily posed "scared" in the make-shift graveyard on her Little Mermaid costume. Molly pretty much played with the pumpkin treat basket the whole time! It was a nice evening and we are looking forward to some more Halloween and fall pumpkin activities planned for the end of the month.

The Math Team's Littlest Helper!

On Friday we all went to the JV football game to get out of the house for a bit. Emily very quickly became Mrs. O'Brien's little helper ( a math team mom). She told me that she helped make the hotdogs, but needed help from a grownup. She put popcorn boxes together, collected money and handed out change, drinks, etc. She was having so much fun and feeling like such a big girl. We went and watched the game and cheerleaders for a bit, but were quickly told by Emily "I have to get back to work, there are lots of customers who want hotdogs!" In the end she even helped pick up the concession stand and was so sad it was all over!!

Last night she wanted to go back to "Daddy's work and help with customers" though it was an away game :)

We're proud parents...

Just had to share with everyone that Emily can write her name, Molly's name and a few other letters in the alphabet. It is amazing how fast it all happens. She came to me the other day and showed me that she could write an O, H and I...now in just a couple days she knows how to spell her name! Im sure we are on a roll now!

What did you say??

This evening while we were cooking dinner, Emily went into the kitchen and asked for a "potabowl". Neither Chris or I could figure out what she was trying to ask for, even after repeated attempts from Emily. Finally, out of her frustrastration with our lack understanding she simply stated, "You know, its kinda cold and you hold it on a stick and you lick it." Of course we now know with her explanation she meant "popsicle" :)...sadly for her after all of this, we dont have any in the house!!

The best sound on earth!

We finally took some video :) How is a baby's laughter not the best sound in the world? It can change your mood in an instant and make you smile from ear to ear....

Rolling, Rolling, Rolling...

Today during some fun floor time, Molly finally made that extra heave ho and rolled herself over from back to stomach! She has been so close for weeks now and we have been patiently waiting for her happy little achievement in the world of a 4mos old! Emily was so happy for her, clapping and jumping up and down, shouting "She did it! Great job Molly, you did it! WhaHoo!!" Lets just hope that excitement and enthusiasm regarding her little sister sticks through the teenage years. She is now one step closer to being mobile....uh oh for us :)

Molly had her 4mos dr appt and is getting so big!! She weighs in at 14lb 1 1/2 oz and is 26in long! It amazes us how much time as already gone by and before we know it she'll be crusin' everywhere and talking up a storm like her big sister. She is an amazing baby and we are so lucky to have 2 wonderful girls!

Emily loves....

Tonight as I was getting Molly ready for bed Emily shouted out from her room "I love you Mommy." It was so sweet, though Chris then asked her "what about Daddy?" Her reply was so sweet and genuine..."but I love all my family!" Its moments like these that really show us how fast she is growing up and how much about life she understands even at the tender age of 3!

Out on the boat

We had fun this weekend spending some time out on Grandma and Papa's boat. Molly enjoyed the rocking motion as it put her to sleep...how she could sleep in the lifejacket amazes me :) She did find the trip back to the dock lots of fun as she laughed and smiled when we went fast! Emily has been loving swimming this summer and she jumped into the inlet with Daddy and Papa this trip out. She was able to play in the sand a little and cool off in the water while Mommy and Grandma watched from the dry boat :) We'll wait to jump in the pool at home!

I thought this was so funny...apparently even though she was sleeping she didnt want to let go of her rings. The playing never stops in her world :)

Our little gymnast!

Our little gymnast!! We go every Saturday for Acrotots and watch em go from station to station. Its the first time she is doing a class on her own, listening to her teachers and having us watch from the "parents room." So far her favorites seem to be hanging on the bar and doing "flips" and jumping on the trampoline. It brings back memories for me and I love watching her!

I thought this was so sweet! Molly was playing on the floor and started fussin a little and Emily decided that "her sister will read her a story and that will make her not cry" Molly was glued to her and you just couldnt help but smile.

Mom! Come Look!

Emily came rushing into the laundry room telling me I just had to come look at what she had done...She was beaming and chuckling with pride! Apparently Molly wanted to play with some toys while swinging and her big sister wanted to oblige :)

Sharing Our Family!

I decided to start this blog for our family and friends that don't get to see the girls as often as they wish. I hope to be able to leave cute stories and pictures as they happen, not to mention help me chronicle both the everyday and special moments of our girls. I hope everyone enjoys the Emmy N' Molls page :)
